So what are a few cooking ideas that will save you time and money? Easy cooking is a superb place to start. We all like to think of ourselves as good cooks, but not everything needs to be complicated. It’s hard to save lots of time and money if you aren’t organized. So get organized by emphasizing what to cook so when to cook. Write your cooking suggestions down and put them a highly effective personal cooking book. In addition to planning what to make, you should plan any time to cook. Most people assume they must cook dinner between your hours of 4 pm and 7 pm. Because the norm this is great, but make sure you are using easy recipes for dinner. Here is another 1 we found works within our house. Cook dinner in breakfast. No, most would not classify this as a normal habit. Think of it by doing this. By cooking your dinner each day, you will not possess the evening rush of “what to help cook” which regularly means “where can I order out” because there isn’t the time or energy to manufacture a home cooked meal. Prepare your dinner meal when you are fixing breakfast, and then place it in the refrigerator. When you get home, you will simply have to reheat and a property cooked meal is revealed in a jiffy. This is especially good when you find yourself cooking for kids. Here’s a another one from your cooking book. Dig out there the crock pot. We make this happen a lot on Sundays. There are healthy and great tasting dishes you could make in a crock weed. In the morning, your ingredients get added towards pot. By dinner, it’s wanting to serve. How much prep time are there when you get home? Just long enough setting the table. Talk regarding easy cooking! To us, this is as close mainly because it comes to having a person cook your dinner for you. Shop around. There are some very nice crock pot recipes available that could tantalize your taste bud. Along with those fast and simple recipes, try this. Plan a dining room table picnic. What does which means that? It means you employ paper plates and plastic material ware. Does that beat washing the laundry or what?! Even the kids can get involved with throwing out the plates once they are done eating. I f you choose to do this when you carry out crock pot cooking, then you definately have only one dish to scrub, the crock pot! This needs prep time, but offers you a real break on a day by day basis. We do this in relation to five or six times 12 months. We cook for a whole month a one time. Everything goes in the particular freezer. When we usually are done, there are 30 dinners within the freezer. It takes two days to obtain it all done, but for a month, dinner is up for grabs about 20 minutes after we go back home. If a month appears to be overwhelming, start with doing meals for any week or two. Every night then has easy recipes for dinner! Save time. Save income. It’s a great approach to run a kitchen. The more easy cooking food and cost effective cooking that you can do, the better off ones kitchen is!

There are many educational programs available for viewing on satellite TV. Watching television isn’t always a passive experience that involves us staring blankly from the couch, eyes glazed over, taking in a meaningless program without the need for any kind of intellectual activity. Sure, the sports channel provides a lot of action, but one of the many educational channels offers a more interactive, personal experience for the viewer. It is a constructive pastime that can now be taken full advantage of in high definition.

Educational programs cover various themes and subjects, some for children and others for adults. There is always the History channel, offering interesting exposes and documentaries about philosophers, scientists, and notable people and events throughout history. The Discovory channel often educates us on the natural world, providing impressive cinematography and enthralling viewers with stunning scenery. Animal Planet welcomes us into the eat or be eaten jungle of the animal kingdom, exploring various species, their habitats, and their behavior. The cooking channel is a wonderful option for a quick stint of entertainment that encourages you to expand your creativity in the kitchen. Martha Stewart was once the domestic Queen of homemaking, but with the rise of cooking programs and home and garden networks, there is now some new competition on the scene. You can visit many different kitchens and tune into what’s cooking, learning new recipes all the time. The quirky New York chef, the quick and delicious recipes of the spunky Rachel Ray, or the wholesome southern cooking of Paula Deen with her charming accent, there is always some delicious looking dish being whipped up on TV.

Cooking shows give you a step-by-step how to in making new and tasty dishes. It’s a great visual guide as you can watch how the chef prepares each step and get an idea of what the whole process should look like. There is usually a great variety of different recipes that debut in the onscreen kitchen. Some are old classics that are savory family favorites. Others are innovative infusions that are bursting with flavor. And in most cases, the food preparation is not too complicated so that the average chef can’t figure it out. It’s a fast and easy way to get new ideas for dinnertime and is entertaining all the while.

In addition to educational cooking programs, there many reality cooking show’s that offer a good amount of entertainment as well. The competition is always stiff as the knives fly and the flames leap around the pots and pans. Plus, its all the more intense in HD. Various chefs are pitted against each other, having to fulfill difficult challenges that test their skills and creativity in the kitchen. Perhaps the average person isn’t capable of making most of the dishes that the various chefs so frantically put together, but it is nonetheless entertaining to watch and be a witness to the incredibly artistry involved in cooking.

So you and your children have made a couple of peanut butter sandwiches together, and the two of you feel ready to take on the contestants from Iron Chef, huh? While we’re not doubting your talents, children’s cooking is supposed to extend beyond the delicious peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on white bread cut into triangles.

I don’t care how much fun (or how delicious) making those PB&J’s with your kids might be, there is going to come a time when they’ll be looking for a new challenge.

If you run out of ideas yourself, the internet is full of fun and easy cooking ideas for kids. In this article, we’re going to discuss an easy recipe for beginners: applesauce.

The first time I made applesauce with my children was when my oldest daughter lost her front two teeth within a week of each other. The poor girl, as adorable as she looked with her tongue sticking out of each smile, was frustrated as could be trying to bite into her favorite foods… one of which was an apple. She’d learned the old-saying “An apple a day keeps the Doctor away” at a very young age, and being deathly afraid of the doctor, ingested an apple nearly every day.
So we made applesauce. All we needed was a few apples, some water, and a cup of sugar. We peeled, cored, and sliced the apples, put them, and water, into the pan and let them simmer for 10-15 minutes, added the sugar, and once everything cooled, voila! We had applesauce.

(You can add brown sugar and cinnamon to the product, to increase its sweetness. I know we did.)

Another one of my favorite things to make when cooking with kids is roasted pumpkin seeds. This is especially great after carving your Halloween pumpkins. Rather than throw them out, you can teach your kids the importance of conserving and recycling by turning the inner parts of your pumpkin into a tasty snack.

Just take your pumpkin seeds and lay them out on a tray and paper towel over night to let them dry. The next day, toss the seeds into olive oil, butter, or spray them with a cooking spray and place them spread out on a baking sheet. Cover them in seasonings of your choice (salt is the most basic, though my kids and I are fans of cayenne pepper) and bake until they’re golden brown.

This is just one of the many easy, simple, and delicious cooking ideas for kids. As we mentioned earlier there is a plethora of additional ideas throughout the internet, so don’t blame your lack of imagination for not spending time cooking with your kids.

The western world has a mild obsession with chocolate, and rightly so. Not only is it delicious, but it is also good for your health. Dark chocolate is full of antioxidants. Some brands of chocolate, such as Xocai, have more antioxidants than red wine or even acai berries. Chocolate also creates a hormonal reaction when consumed that feels a lot like sexual afterglow or falling in love. Dark chocolate is full of a good kind of saturated fat that can help boost brain function in ways similar to fish oil, and it is satisfying enough to eat in small quantities. Chocolate has non-food applications in skin care products and make-up, and there are endless products available that showcase its properties, from confections to body wraps. One of the best ways to enjoy the benefits of chocolate is to cook with it. Here are some great ways to cook with chocolate.

1. In drinks
Drinking chocolate has become a popular delivery method for chocolate consumption in recent years. It is a combination of melted chocolate and cream, as opposed to the cocoa powder/sugar/milk combination usually used in hot cocoa. It is a thick and rich chocolate drink that seems to send those happy chocolate feelings straight to your toes. To make drinking chocolate, combine 2 oz heavy cream with 6 oz of milk in a saucepan. Add a cinnamon stick and a vanilla bean that has been split down the middle. Heat the infused milk mixture very slowly for 15-20 minutes. Remove the vanilla bean and the cinnamon stick and add 2 oz finely chopped or grated dark chocolate. Heat, stirring, until chocolate is fully melted. Top with whipped cream and a dusting of powdered cinnamon.

Chocolate makes an excellent smoothie addition. Combine 1/4c hot cocoa mix with 8 oz milk. Add in 1 frozen banana and 1/2 of an avocado. Blend until creamy. If dairy is not an option for you, water or coffee can be exchanged for the milk.

2. In Mousse
Mousse is a fluffy, decadent use for chocolate that doesn’t have to be too sweet. Here is a recipe that combines coffee with chocolate for one of the fluffiest mousses out there:
12 oz grated dark chocolate
4 eggs
6 oz hot coffee
Blend together eggs and chocolate for 1 minute. With blender running, add coffee in a smooth stream. Mixture should froth up and fill blender. Pour into dessert cups and refrigerate for at least an hour, if you can stand it.

3. Chocolate cups
Chocolate can be used as a delivery method for some other decadent dessert by making thin cups out of it. Using good melted chocolate, spread it in a thin layer over baking cups. Refrigerate at least one hour or until hard. Remove from refrigerator and peel off baking cups. The resulting chocolate cups can now be filled with whipped cream or frosting or filled with custard and fruit to make little chocolate tarts.

4. In savory foods
Chocolate isn’t just for dessert anymore. The benefits and rich flavor of chocolate can be had in savory foods, as well. It is a popular secret ingredient in chili recipes. Cocoa, especially when combined with bacon or cinnamon in a chili recipe, adds incredible depth to the flavor of the chili, without ever imparting a specific chocolate flavor. Cocoa can also be added to savory breads and stews in the same way coffee might, to deepen the flavor and enrich the color.

Famous Filipino food or “pagkaing Pinoy” recipes are now available online to be easily downloaded, kitchen tested and relished by any Filipino or non-Filipino residing in any country of the world. All that is necessary is an internet connection to quickly access the lutong bahay website which is distinct from lutong pinoy.com. The lutong bahay website offers the Filipino food recipes along with a community of food lovers who share a love for cooking, too. Tips on the proper preparation of the recipes can be exchanged.

Almost any dish anyone can think of from among Filipino lutong bahay foods can be sourced at the lutong bahay website. Pilipino cuisine is displayed in all its glory, from Pinoy breakfast recipes to viands or lutong ulam recipes and snacks or merienda recipes. All the free recipes are further enhanced with yummy looking pictures from the Philippines.

Whether they are in the Philippines or abroad, Filipinos never lose their love for cooking and feasting on good food. Almost anything becomes an excuse to gather and eat together from a bountiful table laden with sumptuous dishes. Family and friends, including many non-Filipinos, are invited to partake of the banquet. Because there are hundreds of Filipino dishes in Filipino or Pinoy cooking, there is always something new to sample.

The oldest and most traditional Philippine or Pilipino foods recipes are still being enjoyed today along with their many spin offs and variations. After all, good cooks always like to improve on a dish, adding their own flourishes. Shortcuts have also been developed, as in the Mama Sita recipes which use ready mixes in preparing some traditional Filipino recipes, no longer cooked in the native earthen pot or palayok. Modern day Filipino cooks likewise go on developing new Filipino dishes to add to the cuisine.

Those who are searching for the best healthy and easy Filipino foods recipes can comb through the collection of lutong bahay free recipes or lutong Pinoy free recipes online from the Philippines. The phrases “mga lutong Pinoy” and “lutong Pilipino” mean Filipino cooking in the native tongue while the phrases “mga lutong bahay” and “lutuing bahay” mean home cooked food.

When having to create a lutong Pinoy menu for up to a year’s worth of daily meals and celebrations, one can just easily match up dishes from the various regional cuisines, including Ilocano, Pampanga, Tagalog and Visayan foods, dishes and recipes and others. One can put in the pancit chami recipe of Lucena, Quezon; the Batangas bulalo recipe of Batangas province; the pigar pigar recipe of Dagupan, Pangasinan; and a saluyot recipe from the Ilocos region. Other vegetable dishes that may be added include sinigang sa bayabas, sinigang sa miso and ginisang togue. Filipino food recipes for fish and seafood will also be demanded for, such as the seafood kare kare recipe, the Spanish sardines recipe, the crab Maritess recipe, the sweet and sour lapu – lapu recipe, the rellenong pusit recipe, and the ginataang tilapia recipe.

The lutong bahay website also offers free Filipino recipes for the treats that Filipinos often enjoy when eating out, such as the Jollibee style spaghetti recipe, the siopao sauce recipe, the hopia recipe, the sylvanas recipe and the best ube chiffon cake recipe.

Along with recipes, the website provides entertaining and informative articles focusing on cooking, food and food events like the recent Philippine Lanzones Festival 2010.
